CHARACTER INFO

• Character Name: Bigby Wolf (or the Big Bad Wolf)
• Character Age: Technically centuries old, but his human form physically looks like he's in his.. late 30s, early 40s..?? I'm so bad at telling this stuff, guys.
• Character Canon: The Wolf Among Us
• Canon Point: From the end of the first game, so from the end of episode 5, "Cry Wolf."

• Character History: Here.

• Character Personality:

— Positive Trait: Bigby is determined, focused on his job and hard-working. Bigby is the sheriff of Fabletown - a community of fairytale beings who had to flee their own world and now live among normal people in our world - and is tasked with keeping the peace among all the Fables. A feat easier said than done, considering how many corrupt things there are going on there and the fact that there are quite a few Fables who don't exactly tend to be peaceful. But even though it's nearly impossible, Bigby still wants to do the best job he can. It's hard work and he often complains about not being able to sleep or about people whining at him, but at his core he truly cares about the Fables. When he uncovers in just how poor conditions some Fables live or how difficult their situations are, you can see true empathy in his eyes. He really does want to help everyone out, and he actually feels bad that he often can't do a whole lot for the people who need it the most since it's difficult for just one person to change the entire system (although he's at least trying to actively push Snow into office over the course of the game so maybe they can change things together that way). Bigby wants to prove that he's no longer some sort of monster and that he isn't going to hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it, even if he doesn't really know how to go about it. But on the other hand, he also knows he can't just be kind on the job. It's hard actually getting through to the minds of the Fables since a lot of them tend to be stubborn or michievous, so he has to take being sheriff seriously. And Bigby has figured that if you want to make people listen to you, they have to fear you - and that's also part of why he acts so harsh and rough at times. He often tries to live up to the Big Bad Wolf idea people have of him on the job so he can actually get shit done. It's already shown in one of the early conversations in the game, when Bigby tells Colin: "You think my job is easy? You try keeping a bunch of Fables from killing each other. How do you think this all works? By being big and being bad." If it's for the sake of his job, and for the sake of keeping the peace, Bigby is willing to become the target of everyone's fear and ire - as long as it means everyone else can at least live peacefully, even if it means he himself couldn't.

— Positive Trait: Bigby is actually rather loyal and protective. Even though he might be playing up the big and bad thing a little bit, Bigby isn't truly a bad guy underneath it once you get to know him. Snow, one of the people who knows him the best, even literally says in the game that Bigby has a big heart and a hot head. And she could know, since Bigby saved her by biting through the chains she was captured with back in the world they came from, even back when he was still a literal wolf. Bigby actively gets worked up about Snow's safety and would do anything to protect her, going as far as physically throwing himself at people and fighting them for her safety and dignity's sake. He may not care much about himself, or take very good care of himself, but when Bigby decides he cares about someone, he will do absolutely everything for their sake, or just to keep them safe in general.

— Positive Trait: In fact, he is actually generally kind. It might be hard to imagine this when Bigby is throwing his weight around as sheriff for the sake of his job, playing up his angry and scary side, but he's truly kind in the moments where it matters. For example, he never acts all scary around kids. Sure, he might be a touch awkward since he doesn't know how to fully interact with them, but he tries so hard to be more gentle around them and not scare them, since they've done nothing to deserve such a thing. He's also visibly distraught whenever someone gets hurt on his watch. Two Fable women are murdered during the course of the game, and Bigby takes their deaths very personally. He can't stand injustice, and even less so cruelty towards other people-- which may seem ironic, given his violent temper, but this is exactly why said violent temper is often aimed at those who would hurt others or take advantage of them.

— Negative Trait: Bigby is a lone wolf - if you'd pardon the pun. He's the kind of person who prefers to do things by himself so he can do them his own way without having anyone else drag him down. He also isn't too great with social interactions in general, making him come off as antisocial when it'd probably be more appropriate to just call it slightly socially awkward. Dealing with people, sure, he can do that, but connecting with people is something he has a lot more trouble with. Bigby lives by himself in a small apartment - although Colin, a talking pig, is often over uninvited - and he generally doesn't really seem to be interacting with people a whole lot outside of work, although it can be argued that he's often so busy with work that he doesn't have a whole lot of time to begin with in interacting with people regularly. The fact that he's very direct and rather rough - both physically but also since he swears like a sailor all the freaking time - doesn't really help him in trying to interact with other people.

— Negative Trait: Bigby has a violent temper. Although Bigby is capable of talking things over calmly with people if he really has to, he's the kind of guy who's quick to resort to force instead. Especially if the situation calls for it. He's not afraid to kick down doors, destroy property or even hit or threaten people if it's for his job or for the sake of the people he cares about. He definitely has a short fuse and a temper - partially thanks to his wolf nature, considering he completely seems to lose it temper-wise whenever his more wolf-like side comes out. A lot of the Fables seem to be afraid of him because of it, although there's certainly quite a few who aren't afraid to talk back to him (although that usually ends once Bigby threatens them). And everyone seems to be very well aware of Bigby's problems with his temper and his tendency to use force to get things done: whenever he has to deal with kids or people who just went through something rough, Snow or someone else tries to tell him to be gentle with those people or try to act calm.

— Negative Trait: Adding on to that last part-- Bigby is haunted by his reputation, and struggles to believe whether or not he has really changed compared to his past. After all, he is-- was-- is the Big Bad Wolf from the fairytales, the mean and cruel wolf who eats pigs, other animals and even people. And while all of that really is what he is like - someone with a tendency to be a loner, someone who's rough and has a temper - Bigby is by no means of the word unnecessarily cruel, yet it's still what people seem to think about him. A lot of the Fables call him out on the fact that the upper management seems to not care at all about the Fables who don't have as much money, since he's (technically) also part of the upper management. They truly see him as some indifferent kind of guy, someone who only stops by when his bosses tell him to go see the Fables with less money for once. And if they don't think that, then they just think he's a brute or are downright afraid of him. Of course this also has to do with his past deeds back in the Homelands. As the Big Bad Wolf he hasn't exactly been doing a lot of good things, and although he's never fully caused a Fable to die (the pigs and Little Red Riding Hood were okay in the end, after all) he did endanger them and (try to) eat them, so people still think of Bigby as that kind of monster. And considering Bigby struggles with his temper and has to carry out the dirty work for Fabletown, he himself also often struggles with whether he's really changed - wanting to be better, but constantly being reminded and dragged down by his past.

• Character Skills:

• Hunting
• Tracking
• Fishing
• Foraging (though, you know, mostly from a wolf's point of view)
• Hand-to-hand combat (though not exactly with any technique, more just through a whole lot of experience with fighting)

• Character Inventory:

— ITEM ONE: Just a pack of pack of Huff & Puff cigarettes. They're apparently really gross to most people, but Bigby smokes them almost exclusively.

• Important Notes: I do have a question, but since it isn't pressing nor would it affect any of my threads on the TDM, I decided to put it here in the app rather than asking on the FAQ.

You see, as you might have read above, Bigby is - technically - a wolf. It's part of his biology. He can canonically shift between his wolf and human forms, and he does have some inbetween forms, as seen here (mostly human, a little wolf) and here (very werewolf-esque). His final form after that is, obviously, just an actual wolf. On four paws and all that.

Would he retain his ability to shift forms in-game since it's part of his biology, rather than a special power? I will strip him of his superstrength and any other powers in these forms, obviously, leaving it purely as a cosmetic sort of thing whenever he gets very angry. If the in-between forms (or only the milder in-between form) are fine but not the full wolf form, that's cool with me! If nothing but his pure human form without even a little bit wolf is allowed, then that's also totally a-okay. Just wanted to see what would fit within the limits of the game considering the shift is not magical in nature, thanks! c:
